Northgate High School Sports Complex Update:

The heavy early winter rains continue to cause delays for the Sports Complex.  In spite of a reasonable dry spring, there is still too much moisture trapped under the rock on the field site.  The final grading on the field can not be done until this moisture content is reduced.  For this to happen, we need more warm dry days.  The moisture content is checked every week and we continue to closely monitor the field condition so we can complete this project as quickly as possible.

Once construction on the field begins again, grading should take about a week to complete.  Naturally this assumes nosports underlying problems.  Our turf company, Sportexe, has been very cooperative, continually changing their schedule so they can come in as soon as the final grading is completed.  The installation of the turf will take about one month to complete, again depending on weather conditions.  After the turf installation is complete, the track company, California Track will begin installing the track surface.  This process will also take about a month to complete.

The Foundation is grateful to our community for their patience as we do everything in our power to make sure the project we build is the best it can be.  We appreciate the generosity and trust of our community and in keeping with that trust, we will not substitute expediency for excellence.

Don’t miss your chance to be a part of this very important effort---give generously now.
