The Northgate Community Pride Foundation, in partnership with the Mt. Diablo Unified School District, successfully completed the renovation of the Little
Theatre at Northgate High School in November 2006. After nearly a full year of construction, Northgate Pride was excited to achieve its goal of
completely renovating the 30-year old performance space. In celebration, the Foundation sponsored a ribbon-cutting Gala in late November to
celebrate the return of the school's renowned performing arts departments to a wonderful new facility. Now called the Jack De Rieux Little Theatre,
this new venue serves the theatre, dance, vocal music and instrumental programs at Northgate High School.
In order to achieve this successful renovation, the Northgate Pride Foundation worked in partnership with the Mt. Diablo Unified School District.
The design, bid process, and construction phase were completed under the management of both the school district and the Foundation.
Funds for the renovation came from a variety of sources: state monies for facility improvement, foundation grants, individual contributions and corporate donations.
A beautiful donor plaque graces the renovated lobby of the new theatre, a tribute to the community support of this worthwhile project.
